Causes of climate change

Who is to blame for the changes in the climate? This question cannot be answered easily, because the causes of the observed climate changes are varied and complicated. Some of these processes only take a few years, others centuries, some are regularly repeated, others take thousands or even millions of years, and some have taken place only once. The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) showed on the basis of three simulations that neither purely natural nor purely human (anthropogenic) climate change factors can be held responsible. The simulation in which both factors were taken into account, in contrast, leads to a satisfactory agreement with the real observations. Thus, the climate changes due to both natural and human factors.

Now you will deal with the natural and human factors in more detail:

  • Natural factors
  • Human factors
