Globalisation

The module explains global interdependencies, its controversial aspects and how it affects our daily lives

The aspects of globalisation

We daily wear clothes, which were produced in, for example, Asia and drink cocoa made from beans that come from Africa. Much of what we consume and possess, as well as our habits have to do with other parts of the world, creating a complex web of interrelations across the entire globe.

As worldwide connections involve many areas of your life, you will now deal with the effects of globalisation in the fields of economics, politics, ecology, society and culture more closely.

To begin with read the daily routine from page 3 again and try to find an example of each of the dimensions of globalisation listed.

  • The economic aspect of globalisation
  • The political aspect of globalisation
  • The ecological aspect of globalisation
  • The sociocultural aspect of globalisation
