Feminism at present

Currently, we talk about the third wave of feminism. Today's feminist movement is linked to a global movement, with postcolonial and ecological movements and peace activism. The “third wave” of feminism is characterized by its diversity and variability of aims respecting multiculturalism, but consistently rejecting the oppression of women as "cultural practice".

On the one hand, the goals of feminism go beyond local and national boundaries, on the other hand, however, they respect local particularities and therefore different actions are implemented locally - with regards to the conditions of the community. Global campaigns such as 16 Days of Activism against Violence against Women may be an example, however, containing diverse activities depending on the conditions of each country in which they are run. For example, in Slovakia there is quite a good legislation against violence against women, but there are few facilities that provide assistance to women in accordance with international standards. Therefore, in the Slovakian context, the activities focus more on direct aid than on legislative changes. Another campaign with an international dimension is the campaign "I need Feminism“, which points out the persistence of Gender inequality in society and the feminist movement as a tool for positive change.
