Example 1

  • What can you see in the picture All is Vanity painted by Charles Allan Gilbert? Woman in front of the mirror? Try to look at the picture from further distance.
  • What can you see now? Did anything change by the change of perspective? Do you see the woman there or something else went out to the prominence?

It is exactly what critical thinking is about. It looks for other, unbiased views of the same reality.

Example 2

  • Focus on the cube. Watch it for at least for 30 seconds. What does happen with the picture? What do you feel when you watch it?

Example 3

  • What can you see in the picture? Vase or two faces?

All these pictures are graphic demonstrations that things can be different from what they seem to be at the first glance. And critical thinking should help us to expose that.
